Photograph and Document!

Some things were sold, others were rehomed to friends and family, and still others were donated. I offered to photograph, document, and create a photo book of items that did not make the cut. While she didn’t want to do this, she did share a lot of stories with me, which I appreciated. Many people I know are going through the same thing with their parents. Here’s some unsolicited advice: pull out your iPhone whenever you see your older family members, go to the Voice Memo app, press record, and ask them a question or two. You may be surprised at what they have to say. For those of you near Raleigh, North Carolina, my friend Diana has the most amazing business helping seniors with life transitions like moving. We could have used her help in Northern California!
